West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy

Our kids' Aikido martial arts and fitness program is designed to introduce the children to the basic concepts philosophy and physical techniques of basic self-defence, “Bully-Proof” anti-bullying tactics and the physical fitness aspects of aikido. In this program the children will learn the qualities of respect, focus, listening skills and to have a ‘never give up’ attitude. This program utilises an age-appropriate syllabus where they gain an easy understanding of the technical requirements of aikido. The children will improve their coordination and fine motor skills in conjunction with learning the basic and intermediate aikido movements and techniques. This will provide them with a strong foundation and a greater understanding of aikido and martial arts, in general, preparing them for the more advanced levels of training if they wish to continue learning the Art. At West Coast Aikido Martial Arts Academy we also constantly reinforce the strong core traditional martial arts values of respect, self-discipline, focus, awareness and concentration in an easy to learn format. Yoseikan Aikido is a harmonious blend of Judo, Jujutsu, Karate and Kenjutsu. We have been helping kids, teens and adults in Perth build confidence and character since 1993

PROGRAM GOALS:

Improve coordination, agility and fitness.

CURRICULUM INCLUDES:
Junior Aikido technical requirements.
Coordination drills and movements.
Teaching of core traditional values.
Cooperation and non-aggression.
They will also learn how to be assertive and
utilise their new-found self-confidence to combat bullying.
